Jerica Tasnim Disha, the 19-year-old girlfriend/friend of former Bangladesh Air
Force Flight Lieutenant KM Tahsif Sauri (also spelled Souri), has been sent to jail
after completing two rounds of police remand in the murder case filed over the recovery
of his body.

On Friday (6 November 2026), Investigation Officer Inspector Firoz Uddin of the
Tongi River Police Outpost produced her before the court after the remands ended
and sought an order to keep her in jail custody. Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Aminul
Islam Junaid ordered her detention in jail. Prosecution Sub-Inspector Saiful Islam
confirmed that no bail petition was filed on her behalf.

In the detention petition, police said Disha was extensively questioned using various
methods to uncover the core mystery of the case. She stated that on the night of
27 October, before the incident, she went with Tahsif to Nest Bar and Restaurant
in Uttara. Earlier that evening they had eaten multiple times at CP Five Star Snacks(
in Uttara Sector 18 / Ruap Complex). They also went together to a motorcycle garage,
and she rode with him on the bike to various places. She confirmed they were together
at Nest Bar and Restaurant.

Investigators said the suspect provided several important pieces of information
about the incident, which are being kept confidential and verified in the interest
of the investigation. They described her as “extremely cunning,” noting that she
tactfully avoided answering several questions and remained silent on certain matters.

Another suspect, Ahmed Shahriar Reza Deep (also spelled Dip/Dwip; 23), remains in
police custody on remand. His and Disha’s statements are being cross-checked. A
review of Tahsif’s mobile call records showed multiple conversations with Disha.
Preliminary investigation indicates evidence of her involvement in the case, and
inquiry against her continues. Police argued that keeping her in jail is necessary
until the investigation is complete, as release on bail could allow her to abscond
and obstruct the probe. Further remand of those involved may still be needed.

**Background from related reports**
Tahsif’s floating body was recovered by river
police from the Turag River near Rajabari Ghat (Uttarkhan) on the afternoon of 28
October (reports cite roughly 4–4:30 pm). He had left his home in Sector 18, Uttara,
on the evening of 27 October after Deep called him downstairs; CCTV showed the two
shaking hands near a garage around 6:24–6:31 pm before leaving on separate motorcycles.

Deep initially told police (around 29 October) that they had dinner together and
separated in the Uttara Housebuilding area. He was later taken into custody by the
Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI) on the night of 29 October, and the motorcycle
was recovered from the Tongi Mazar Basti area (a known drug spot) on 30 October
morning based on information he provided. Deep admitted going with Tahsif to that
area around midnight and later claimed they were chased (including by people in
police uniform), after which Tahsif jumped into the river while he fled and hid.
These shifting accounts have been highlighted in multiple reports as inconsistencies.

CCTV footage from Nest Bar and Restaurant showed Tahsif and Disha arriving together
on a motorcycle around 10:17 pm, with Deep arriving shortly afterward; the three
spent roughly an hour and a half there before Tahsif and Deep proceeded toward the
Tongi area (Disha was reportedly dropped off earlier). Call records and movements
of both suspects are under scrutiny.

Disha was arrested from the Kafrul area around 2 am on 1 November. The court granted
her a first remand of four days (from Sunday) and a second of three days (from Wednesday).
Deep received an initial four-day remand on 31 October, followed by three days on
Tuesday and another three days on Thursday.

Tahsif’s father, KM Enayetul Karim, filed the murder case against unidentified persons
at Uttarkhan Police Station on the night of 30 October / early 31 October, after
which Deep was shown arrested. Family members have ruled out suicide, alleging the
body was dumped in the river; initial inquest reports noted no major external injury
marks (blood from the nose was observed) and an iPhone in his pocket that helped
identify him. He had sent his mother a voice message around 1:35 am saying he was
on his way home.
