Prime Minister’s Political Assistant Rashed Khan has alleged a secret meeting between a high-ranking Indian intelligence official and Jamaat-e-Islami Secretary General Mia Golam Parwar. The allegation, raised yesterday, has sparked discussion in political circles.
Rashed Khan has now released a video related to the meeting. He claims the footage shows Jamaat leaders leaving by car after meeting the Indian intelligence officer.
On Tuesday evening around 6 pm, he posted the video on his verified Facebook page. In the caption, he stated that Mia Golam Parwar and the Jamaat representative team left in the vehicle after the meeting with the Indian intelligence official.
In the post, he challenged Mia Golam Parwar to file a defamation case if the allegation is false.
Earlier, on Monday (25 October), in a social media status, Rashed Khan made the same claim. He said that on 16 October, after Maghrib prayers, Jamaat Secretary General Mia Golam Parwar, Jamaat leader ATM Masum, and three others met a high-level Indian intelligence officer at a house in Baridhara, Dhaka.
Rashed Khan further alleged that Jamaat is planning a movement in collaboration with the Awami League (AL).
Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has also claimed that the Awami League and Jamaat are negotiating for Sheikh Hasina’s return in December.
